Benchmarks

Test System
  • MB: ASUS P5AD2 Premium
  • CPU: Intel P4 3.6gig
  • RAM: 1024Meg Corsair Value Select DD2
  • Video: ATI Original X850 Platinum

3Dmark03
Here are the results of 3Dmark03, the program was run in 1024x768 at the default settings. The X850 received a very respectable score in this benchmark. For comparison, I received a score of 11476 when using a 6800Ultra during testing for my SLI review.

3Dmark05
Here are the 3Dmark05 results, again, the program was run at 1024x768 at the default settings. The X850 also got a good result on this benchmark. For comparison, the 6800Ultra in my SLI review received a score of 4916.

Game Benchmarks

I used Bench'em all to benchmark Far cry, Half-life 2, and Doom 3. I tested the games at 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200. I used the default configuration, and used Bench'em all's time demos for everything but Half-life 2 where I used one made by our very own Gravy.

Half-Life 2
As you can see in the above benchmark results, Half Life 2's numbers hardly changed when I changed resolutions. I wanted to stress the video card as much as possible so I retested Half Life 2 with 6X Anti-Aliasing. Even with the 6X AA the FPS where still within the margin of error for 1024x768 and 1280x1024, so I also put in 16X Anisotropy. Here are the results of the tests.
