SiSoft Sandra is a standard for many end users/builders to compare their systems to others. These benchmarks are quoted on every website you find and are almost the cornerstone of bragging rights. In our first benchmark we are looking at the GA-7DPXDW's performance in the CPU benchmark. The GA-7DPXDW edges out both of the Tyan Tiger's in this benchmark. In the Multi-Media Benchmark, the GA-7DPXDW result fell short of expectations. In the Integer SSE test the GA-7DPXDW fell between the Tiger MP and MPX platforms but in the Floating Point SSE it loses handily to both Tigers. With the first two Sandra benchmarks completed we head into the final benchmark. Well look at that the GA-7DPXDW rocks both the Tigers in the memory benchmark. After the first two results I was concerned a bit as to the platform performance. Of course you can't judge with results from only a test or two so lets get the ball rolling and see how the GA-7DPXDW handles the rest of the benchmarks.
Content Creation Winstone 2001 Ver 1.01 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance. Content Creation will keep several applicationsat once and switches among those applications. Programs used during this are Adobe Photoshop 5.5, Adobe Premiere 5.1, Macromedia Director 8.0, Macromedia Dreamweaver 3.0, Netscape Navigator 4.73, and Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 4.5. This benchmark has me concerned. If you noticed there wasn't a result listed for this benchmark. No matter what I tried I was not able to get the GA-7DPXDW to complete the benchmark. Every time the benchmark would get about ¾ of the way finished and it would return errors and request that I shut it down. After several reinstalls and even an OS reinstall I still couldn't get the benchmark to complete.
CLI Bench MK III SMP is as stated on the web page, a different benchmarking solution. This benchmark runs a gamut of synthetic benchmarks that includes: Dhrystones, Whetstones, Eight queens' problem, Matrix operations, Number Crunching, Floating point, memory throughput, hard disk's throughput and the CPU usage.

This benchmark was a dead heat through all but one test. In the Floating Point K Ops Tiger MP shows a slight edge.
Science Mark 1.0 will measure the performance of your computer by the execution of a few tests, including the simulation of liquid argon, energy calculation of H2O, and the like. When comparing the three tests, smaller numbers are better.

The benchmark results are listed in CB units. Larger numbers here are better. So what is a CB unit? Well the explanation that is given is using a reference system of a Pentium 133 MHz. The result represents how much faster your system is than the reference. The GA-7DPXDW holds its own in this benchmark resulting in a dead heat again.
POV-Ray creates three-dimensional, photo-realistic images using a rendering technique called ray-tracing. It reads in a text file containing information describing the objects and lighting in a scene and generates an image of that scene from the viewpoint of a camera also described in the text file. I ran the Pawn benchmark. In the graph legend below you will see several different optimizations used to run the tests. The optimized coding is the only difference between each test. There is quite a difference achieved by optimized coding alone. Smaller numbers are better as this reflects the time it takes in seconds to complete the rendering.

SPECviewperf 6.1.2 parses command lines and data files, sets the rendering state, and converts data sets to a format that can be traversed usingL rendering calls. It renders the data set for a pre-specified amount of time or number of frames with animation between frames. Finally, it outputs the result. SPECviewperf reports performance in frames per second. In this benchmark, higher numbers are better.

The GA-7DPXDW was able to hold up against the Tigers in 4 of the 5 tests while falling short only in the AWadvs-04 Weighted Geometric Mean text by little over 2 points.
