When first announced everyone except Matrox hailed it as a GeForce4 killer. Sporting over 20GB of memory bandwidth per second, very few people took into consideration anything that might hinder the Parhelia from shattering the GeForce4 with its “mere” 10GB per second of memory bandwidth. The first sites to get the Parhelia analyzed the benchmarks and posted disappointed reviews. They were in such a rush to publish a review that many people have received a bad first impression of the Parhelia. It is not a GeForce4 killer in performance, however, after extensive analysis we have uncovered that it is indeed an image quality piece of hardware delivering the best image on the market, in 2D and in 3D. With the drivers maturing we also see some respectable performance. Here are the key features from the manufacturer:
Key features:
- 512-bit GPU
- 256-bit DDR memory interface
- 128 MB DDR memory
- Advanced multi-display: Triple-RGB, Dual-DVI, TV output
- High performance 2D, 3D & video
- Surround Gaming
- 10-bit GigaColor
- AGP 4X
