A successful company generally recognizes a trend in the industry
and adapts quickly to it. The computer industry is no different
when it comes to trends pushing the PC market. For an example
of this, look around in any computer store and you will see
the effect that case modding has had on products.
It is clear that computer speakers are being affected by a
certain trend as well. Going from the days when black boxes
passed for speakers, many manufacturers are now producing sleeker,
smaller and more intriguing designs. These designs range from
speakers looking like wine glasses on your computer desk, to
those resembling an alien's helmet from Star Wars. These same
designs, while keeping their image intact, often produce the
same, if not better, quality sounds than those found in older
designs.
I doubt anyone wants his or her computer speakers to look
like they came from a 1972 Radio Shack. No matter how good a
speaker set looks though, sound quality should be the most important
item taken into consideration. Along with sound and looks, there
is the price factor. Paying $200 plus for a set of speakers
is not something many are willing to do. With all of these concerns
taken into consideration, Creative has introduced the I-Trigue
2.1 3300 speakers. With these speakers, Creative will attempt
to fill this void in the market place.

The I-Trigue 2.1 3300 speakers have a suggested retail price
of $85. This places them in direct competition with similarly
priced 4.1 systems from varying manufacturers. The only 2.1
speakers worth mentioning are the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speakers.
This heavy hitting 2.1 configuration is twice the cost of the
I-Trigue 2.1 3300 set, and at that price, it is hard to say
the Klipsch speakers are in direct competition.
The I-Trigue satellites have a very small footprint and look
right at home next to an LCD. With removable screens, they can
take on two different looks, depending on your preference. The
subwoofer is made of wood and comes with a removable screen
as well. The wired remote control is a nice touch with the ability
to control the bass levels of the subwoofer along with system
power and volume. Thankfully, Creative has included the near
essential headphone jack on the remote control.
The I-Trigue 2.1 3300 system certainly comes with an impressive
list of specs. One glaring aspect is the 80 watts of power pushing
this small design. Each of the two satellite speakers contain
three titanium drivers with 9 watts apiece. That combines for
a total of 27 watts per satellite. The 25-watt subwoofer incorporates
a 6.5" long-throw driver with a dual flared port tube.

When running the I-Trigue speakers through a series of sound
tests, it became quite clear this set would earn a place in
the hearts of many. The volume provided by these speakers is
far more than that of most 4.1 setups in this price range. The
bass is more than loud. In fact, the volume produced by Klipsch
Pro Media 2.1 speakers would be the closest thing to this I-Trigue
2.1 setup; at half the cost though, the Creative speakers sound
better and better.
Gaming with the I-Trigue speakers is a real pleasure. The
deep and powerful bass from the subwoofer helps add to the immersed
feeling you get when playing FPS games. There is nothing like
a rocket blowing up near your feet and literally feeling the
rumble as the bass from the subwoofer simulates the explosion.
The satellites help add to the gaming sensation by producing
exceptionally clear sounds throughout our gaming environments.

Using our simple sea website templates on our site you can buy website templates On the music side of things, the I-Trigue set throws out massive
volume levels. Turning this system up all the way, certainly
garners a quick response from bystanders. At this point though,
lip reading will be required to know what they are trying to
say unless you turn the sound back down. Although the subwoofer
produces more than adequate bass reproduction, there are times
it is apparent you have reached the end of its performance range.
With low frequencies at high volumes, the bass is not as clear
as one would desire for extended listening; however, it remains
tops in its class. The mid range is more than adequate and the
highs are quite crisp through all volume levels. As most speakers
in this price range tend to falter at maximum volume, the I-Trigue
set continued to produce tight and crisp sounds under these
conditions.

Creative has certainly hit the sweet spot with
the introduction of the I-Trigue 2.1 3300 speakers. With such
an elegant design producing wonderful sound, these speakers
caught us by surprise. Seldom do we find a successful combination
of looks and performance in a set of speakers.
The I-Trigue setup will more than satisfy most music fans,
but they are not quite up to levels that a few music aficionados
demand. Those select listeners will need to spend more money,
and spend it elsewhere. Gamers, however, will instantly crack
a smile when listening to the I-Trigue set in their favorite
game for the first time.
Given the price of the I-Trigue 2.1 3300 setup, this product's
imperfections are easily forgiven. Even the 4.1 systems that
compete directly on price with this 2.1 setup from Creative
cannot outperform these speakers. In order to better the I-Trigue
configuration, you will need to look at sets costing at least
$100 more. So until the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speakers drop
to under $100, the I-Trigue 2.1 3300 speakers have earned the
AthlonXP.com Editor's Choice.
