I personally have a difficult time in getting a nVidia card to install and perform as I want it to. I usually have to get online with someone that is a nVidia user and get some advise.
I don't know exactly why this is.
We have no problems with the installation of Radeon cards and drivers in any of the systems we sell.
Reliability and stability are utmost goal when building a system.

I am right the opposite, every time I put a Raideon in my system, I feel like I have died and gone to hell. I have to post several posts and go through pulling my hair out every time I install one. I have absolutely no problems when installing Nividia, just plop in and load drivers and it works every time, and works well.

What I would like to see in a video card -- -- I would like to see a simple nomenclature for video card identification and when you pay such a high price for a video card, it would last for years and not be outdated in a few months.

Question

Ancient::The exact same thing works for us with the ATI cards. Guess depends on what you work with the most, and know what to expect and how to set up a system would depend on the ease of installing hardware.
We do the exact same thing thing.
Make sure you have a clean OS, install the video card, bootup, cancel the auto install for the drivers.
We only use the Catalyst drivers.
With the system booted and the video set at default.
Install the drivers for the Radeon, Controle Panel and Rage3dTweaker.
Reboot and you are good to go.
You probably do the same with nVidia, but it just don't work well for us and nVidia.
Don't get me wrong, we do install nVidia cards, and we do get the drivers installed.
But just not as easy and clean as with ATI.

Question

nkrempely::What drivers are you using?
Do you use the unified ASUS drivers from thier site, or did you go with nVidia's drivers and if so which version?
This can make a difference.
What speakers are you using?
If you are using 5.1 SS speakers, are your rear speakers loud enough?
Does the bass and center channel work properly?
