Lian-Li PC-V1000
This case was originally spotted on The Inquirer, and it was noted in our news section during the CeBit show. Remember folks, the case is an ATX, Advanced Technology Extended, form factor case that has a future look of the new format, BTX, Balanced Technology Extended. Today, we will look at the PC-V1000, the smaller version seen in the CeBit show.

Would've liked to seen the case with stuff in it before they gave it a 10.

I'll be working on that, there was a little time constraint and we were working on having the article go live, and have a revision to the article.

Hello i have some comments:
I like the pictures of the case but how can you really give it a final though / score before you tried it in action? This feels more like a preview.
On another note, that front page poll is a little odd "In the next generation of technology, what would you buy?". All the choices are different hardware categories. (except the two CPUs). How can one answer fully when all the choices will become mainstream sooner or later? PCI-E, BTX, DDRII, and Intel or AMD

Welcome to the forum!
We'll have an update to it with some temperatures but rest assured, there will probably be a good amount of cooling because the hard drives are tucked away and the heat from the power supply is elsewhere.

Very very nice looking case. Glad I held off on purchasing the pc70. But one thing that worried me... The BTX comment, BTX main boards wont fit when they come out? Or...? Arnt they supposed to be out around June? Life has been a bit busy as of late so sorry for being redundant if the question has been asked before. Thanks!

Yes, that is correct, the BTX will not work with the ATX format because of the rearrangements to the motherboard layout. The only thing that is projected to work in the BTX format from ATX is the powersupply.

Hey JasperM,
You might want to change the header of the review - "Lian-Li PC-V1000 BTX Case" to say ATX.

Its not a BTX case, it is an ATX. The mobo is just upside down. Any ATX mobo will fit in it.
edit, will you guys have the silent version up for review anytime soon?

Silent version? Do you mean the PC-6070? We have a review of the 6070 case, found here
A silent case that we just reviewed, which will be going to be live shortly, is the Antec Sonata case. Another silent case is the Silverstone Nimiz case, and that rivals the Sonata.

Due to multiple constraints the temperature testing to the case will not happen. The heatsink, SP97, and the motherboard, AN7, are too big for the V1000. However, if I ever get the chance to review the V2000, which is larger than this case, then there will be temperatures. Any case review reviewed by me will have temperatures in them.
Currently there are only two reviews of this case, ours and Overclocker Cafe, both reviews are the V1000 and there are no temperatures.
