M$ moves into your BIOS
Bios Story Link
Microsoft has entered into an agreement with BIOS maker Phoenix Technologies to integrate the BIOS with Windows. This has the potential to turn PCs into Windows-only machines and also could result in widespread incorporation of Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology into new PCs. It looks like Microsoft is beginning to flex their marketplace monopoly muscles again, after taking a couple of years off."

I think that this is an invasion of our rights and our privacy.
Besides, if the BIOS is run by a Microsoft program, our BIOS' would probably crash about every 5 minutes needing a complete reconfiguration of everything in the BIOS.
This is them trying to get that Palladium technollogy introduced and I don't like it in the least bit. If I purchase the hardware and software, I sure as he|| should be able to do anything I damm well please to it. Do you really think I want to spend a bunch of money on a new computer just to have it controled by people who've already gotten way to much money out of us? Look at Microsoft Windows. It is very monopolisitc and overpriced. Billy Gates has got more money than he'll ever be able to spend in many lifetimes, yet he's still trying to squeeze more and more money out of the wallets of the consumers. Yes, I know it's not just Billy Gates that is being monopolistic and greedy, look at the RIAA and the entire entertainment industry. I was using him as an example.

this just means that everyone will have to hold on to their old hardware as long as possible(or new hardware, as the case may be )

From what I read, with actually going into the whole issue instead of reading the normal
"Onfg MS Suxxorz sxRew thats"
This is being setup for the corporate/government sector where its important for everything to run on as secure a platoform as possible. Alot of the high end DRM, and padillium tech is made for them
I seriosuly doubght MS can and is stupid enough to try to push this in the private sector, especially the way the state of Cali likes to bring up suits

You definitely know that through SEO, your business will benefit hugely, so you have to make sure to find the right Link Building Company that can help you gain your goals SEO on lookup motor rankings, finding the best Link Building Company for your business is a lot more crucial than ever. Link building Company will help you | Simple Website Templates. Every great website and web design needs a starting place or point. Our own newly redesigned website started from a basic template that was heavily modified to suit our needs and the same can be done for you. Using our simple sea website templates on our site you can buy website templates Lets assume for a moment that MS is indeed the evil empire we all suspected it was. Lets also assume that it wants to completely monopolize all aspects of our lives. Heck, lets say it wants to spy on everything we do as well, just for the sake of this post.
It is in our geeky nature to seek a window when a door is closed. Geeks are very much a revolutionary kind of people, sort of like hippies, except not cool and not lazy. If this comes to pass, the geeks of the world will fight it. It won't be very difficult either. All that needs to happen is:
1)Some hardware manufacturer develops "non-compliant" hardware
2)"Non-compliant" (AKAsource) software is already in existance, and is free - Linux.
Even if MS might counter by forcing the government to pass laws which make non-compliant hardware illegal to make, it will all go underground. We'll start visiting that shady dealer around the block, to get a chip or card which will disable Palladium. We'll cry out even harder. Sure, we'll get hosed and gassed by the storm troopers, but our voice will be heard. Heck, it sounds more fun than our ordinary non-make-believe life.
Now back to reality. I seriously doubt this will get anywhere. The public is too educated to allow it. We make our voice heard by not buying. And buy not we will. Right, people?

Yeah I think I could live with today's hardware for a few years at least.

Well, I'm planning on the upgrade that I'm soon to get to last me at least 2 years. Hopefully I can fight off the upgrade bug that long.

Has M$ acually validated that article?
The traditional BIOS we all know is due to be replaced with something new within the next year, according to Phonix.... (the place that makes the majority of our BIOS's if you dont know )
