But I like the stock GPU cooler (does a good job) and would just like to be able to slap some matching memory heatsinks on.

I have a question too Ray from Gainward, I have a Gainward Geforce 3 Ti 200 which I recently recieved from RMA but the card doesn't want to work in my current motherboard, Abit KT7A Raid. Please let me know. It does work in my Old 440 BX motherboard though.

Dear Gainward,
What do you think of the fact that games today hardly use the potential of mid-range cards today? With the R350 around the corner (sort of), and the next revision of GeforceFX as well, do you think hardware is growing a bit too fast for the software?

Nefir, what games do you play? Geforce 4 cards can easily be brought to a crawl with eye candy stuff and higher res turned on in most of the better graphical games. 9700pro, im sure can get there as well, espically with some of the new games coming out soon.

It's just an alpha, the final version will be much more streamlined and run a lot better (or at least I hope so )
I haven't seen the alpha, and I wouldn't want to. Spoils the surprise
As for current games, I agree with Nefir. I can play UT2K3 with 6x AA and 16x AF at 1280x960 and still have framerates that consistently stay above 30 fps. A GeForce 3 or better is really all you need to play most of today's games at 12x10 with moderate eyecandy, or at 10x7 with a good amount of eyecandy
