I'm just trying to imagine where my K6-3/333 would have put me on the stats if I hadn't fried it...
Tip: Make sure you have adequate lighting when reading the CPU voltage. Otherwise, you may misread 2.2 as 2.7 and set the jumpers incorrectly!

heh, I had a Compaqbox buy from BB that served me well, but no matter what I did with the Jumpers I couldnt get it from Stock. Got too frustrated trying to get Bios and MoBo info on it that I gave up, and it runs great as my take along "Network Switch"

Huh? "take along 'Network Switch'"? What, does it have like 4 NIC's in it and running Linux or something?

A compaq persario case(no case cover) with a k62/450.
Unfortunately, Linux always had a hardtime with the hardware. So it runs Win2k Bare essintials on a 5gig drive, with el'cheapo PCI vid, and two nics.
Can be located in my trunk at most times, as it mostly servers for LAN gaming purposes. The Switch itelf is small enough to lay inside to provide 8 ports.

All you have to do is go to the Folding@Home Home Page and download it. I highly recommend the Console version as it runs a lot quicker. When it prompts for the team, enter 10002 and you're set!

Yup! That's right! Depending on your system and the packet it's working, you'll see a timestamp and "Finished a frame (1)" in at least 10 minutes. My AthlonXP 1700+ has ranged between 9 and 25 minutes per frame. After 100 frames, it will begin to attempt to upload results and download a new packet.

Okey, Im on frame 7 and I think I goffed. When it asked ID, I game my Email address. If this is wrong, how do I correct it?
Also, since I am on dialup, whayt happens if I shut my machine down in the middle of this work in progress. Do I loose what I have done or does it just pick up where it left off. I wish they would let you have 3 or 4 WU's, then you could leave it on all night and transmit in the morning.

You should have a file called "client.cfg" in your Folding@Home directory.it using Wordpad, and change the team#. Next time you start your client, the change will be made, and it will continue on the WU you were previously crunching.
If you close the client, WU data is not lost.... for the most part. On some hard crashes I have lost the data, but very rarely.
I have run two clients on one machine simotaniously affectively crunching two seperate protiens chuncks. Was never able to disern if it was worth it.

Depends on a lot of things and varies from WU to WU... Just look how long it takes to finish a frame (assuming the console version here and looking at the timestamps) and multiply by 100. I have yet to come across a WU that had other than 100 frames/500000 steps. Like I mentioned, some of mine have been about 9 min per frame (roughly 15 hours) and others have been about 20 min/frame (about 35 hours)...
