Today I am reviewing a new External USB 80 gigabyte hard drive by Western Digital, one of the best known names in the hard drive market.

true this might be good, however, you can probably find other hard drives out there with lager capacities and make then into an external hard drive with an external enclosure.

you are able to choose from a more veriety and range of xHDD enclosures...

i have a WD200gb with a Metal Gear Box external enclosure....its great...

lets see what it costed me...

WD200gb ($80 on sale at fry's)
Metal gear box ($30 fry's)

total: $110

total after tax or shipping: $120-$130

oh, did i also mention that there are SATA external HDDs?

most external HDDs like the one on this review comes from an IDE HDD, which can actualy support 100mbps. Sata however supports 150mbps, and ther are external sata based enclosures.
