Since the biggest problem I had with the Enermax CS-718 was the temperature, I made sure to put this case through its paces while thermal testing it.
Test System
- CPU: Intel 3.80Ghz LGA775 1Meg Cache
- Motherboard: Asus P5RD1-V Deluxe
- RAM: 1Gig (2 sticks 512MB) SimpleTech
- HDD: Western Digital 80gig SATA 7200RPM
Here are the temperature results I received:
- CPU: 60C/140F
- HDD: 40C/105F
- Ambient: 38C/100F
The CPU temperature was a little high, but then I was also using one of the fastest (and hottest) Intel CPUs out, so I don't think that was caused by the case. The biggest thing I was looking at was the Hard Drive temperature and the ambient temperature. These were the temperatures that were a problem with the Enermax CS-718. This case however the temperatures were well within normal operating spec.
