A part of the attraction for ABIT motherboards is the ability to control the CPU frequencies directly from the BIOS. The NF7-S uses SoftMenu III Technology to take control of the CPU and bus speeds. Under this menu in the BIOS, you are able to change the multiplier, AGP clock, FSB and DRAM ratio. Selecting the memory speeds is a little different from just selecting a speed from a menu or typing in the desired speed. The menu for the memory clock is set to either auto or a divider ratio. For example, if the setting is 4/6, the memory clock will be the processor FSB clock divided by 4 and then multiplied by 6. Having to set the memory clock this way is not near as easy as inputting or selecting a number.

Additional options under the SoftMenu III category in the BIOS allow you to change the values of the CPU Core Voltage, DDR SDRAM Voltage, Chipset Voltage, and AGP Voltage. For those wanting to push their systems to the max, controlling the voltage for these items come in quite handy. The remaining items in the BIOS do not stray too far from that found on other nForce2 motherboards. Memory timings, CPU shutdown temperatures, integrated components and more are controlled from the BIOS.
