SiSoft Sandra is a standard for many end users/builders to compare their systems to others. These benchmarks are quoted on every website you find and are almost the cornerstone of bragging rights. In the CPU and Multimedia Benchmarks, the A7N266-C holds a slight lead over the 8KHA+. Surprisingly the A7N266-C fell quite a bit short in the memory results. The KT266a chipset hands the nForce quite a whipping. The graph below shows the results of each platform running 2 sticks of memory and also the results of the A7N266-C running a single stick of memory. There is a slight performance increase running the 2 sticks of memory in the A7N266-C but not enough to handle the 8KHA+. This is the area where the nForce should really shine. The KT266a chipset hands the nForce 415-D a sound defeat.

Content Creation Winstone 2001 Ver 1.01 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance. Content Creation will keep several applicationsat once and switches among those applications. Programs used during this are Adobe Photoshop 5.5, Adobe Premiere 5.1, Macromedia Director 8.0, Macromedia Dreamweaver 3.0, Netscape Navigator 4.73, and Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 4.5. The A7N266-C shows a bit of power in handling this benchmark. The A7N266-C beats out the 8KHA+ by 1.2 points. It's not as big a margin as the graph may lead you to believe, but a win is a win no matter how small.

Business Winstone 2001 Ver 1.01 is another system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance. Business Winstone runs real applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC takes to complete those activities to produce its performance scores.

The 8KHA+ performs these application-based benchmarks slightly better than the A7N266-C. The 8KHA+ outs scores the A7N266-C by 1.4 points.
CLI Bench MK III SMP is as stated on the web page, a different benchmarking solution. This benchmark runs a gamut of synthetic benchmarks that includes: Dhrystones, Whetstones, Eight queens' problem, Matrix operations, Number Crunching, Floating point, memory throughput, hard disk's throughput and the CPU usage.

The results of this benchmark are really neck and neck. It is almost a dead heat. The A7N266-C takes 3 of the tests, Ties for 2 and loses only 2 of the tests. A7N266-C holds a slight edge overall here.
Science Mark 1.0 will measure the performance of your computer by the execution of a few tests, including the simulation of liquid argon, energy calculation of H2O, and the like. When comparing the three tests, smaller numbers are better.

The A7N266-C performs each of these tests faster than the 8KHA+ platform. The score is a result of a comparison to a base system, which has a final score of 100.
Cinebench 2000 is another benchmarking program that uses raytracing to test the CPU for performance.

The benchmark results are listed in CB units. Larger numbers here are better. So at this point it would be helpful to know what a CB unit is, right? Well the explanation that is given is using a reference system of a Pentium 133 MHz. The result represents how much faster your system is than the reference. The A7N266-C takes all three tests.
SPECviewperf 6.1.2 parses command lines and data files, sets the rendering state, and converts data sets to a format that can be traversed usingL rendering calls. It renders the data set for a pre-specified amount of time or number of frames with animation between frames. Finally, it outputs the result. SPECviewperf reports performance in frames per second. In this benchmark, higher numbers are better.

Looking at the graph the A7N266-C takes a complete win here. Looks like the 8KHA+ has some real competition. In these benchmarks the A7N266-C holds it's own against the 8KHA+.
Most of the results were extremely close. As a matter of fact, they were so close that the end user would never see the difference. So the A7N266-C holds it own in Synthetic and Software/Production Benchmarking but how will it handle the true test? How will it handle the gaming environment?
