| It can be said that ASUS established
the bar with the A7N8X Deluxe and every other manufacturers nForce2
board has been compared to it since its introduction. Performance
alone is not what made this board so desirable. ASUS packed their
nForce2 motherboard with a boat load of features. Now ABIT has
come along and given them a run for their money with Revision
2.0 of the NF7-S. Not only is the performance of the NF7-S exceptional,
ABIT has stocked their top of the line nForce2 board with a long
list of features as well.

would be hard to base a purchasing decision on performance alone.
The NF7-S is at the top of the pack in performance, but this
motherboard brings so much more to the table. Stability is another
area that the NF7-S excels in. We were able to overclock our
Barton 2500+ to the level of a 3200+ without a hitch. The XP
2500+ runs at 1.83GHz on a 166MHz FSB. Without any additional
cooling, the XP 2500+ was easily overclocked to 2.20GHz on a
400MHz FSB, which is the exact speed of a XP 3200+. You can
read how the XP 3200+ performs compared to the XP 2500+ here.
Buying a cheap XP 2500+ and the NF7-S is still cheaper than
the XP 3200+ alone.
ABIT has once again done a fine job with the NF7-S. The
only real suggestion that can be offered to ABIT is to add an
addition LAN port. With so little to complain about with this
board, I would suggest you carefully consider this board when
it comes time for your next upgrade.
