New Horsepower from AMD
XP2200+ (Thoroughbred) Review
Simple Website Templates. Every great website and web design needs a starting place or point. Our own newly redesigned website started from a basic template that was heavily modified to suit our needs and the same can be done for you. Using our simple sea website templates on our site you can buy website templates Just three months ago we introduced you to Green Lightning. With the introduction of the AthlonXP 2100+, AMD was stepping up to the megahertz challenge. Running at a blistering 1.73GHz, the XP2100+ was AMDs fastest available processor. Yep I said was. The XP2100+ took its place in line to narrow the gap between the higher MHz Intel processors without jeopardizing the monthly house note or your childs College Fund. In most head to head benchmarks, the XP2100+ held its ground against even the fastest of Intels offerings. The megahertz battle continues and again AMD is stepping up to take on the challenge. This time they are riding into battle with a new horse. Known to many of us as the Thoroughbred, the XP2200+ is the first of AMDs .13u process cores. Rumors spread that the Thoroughbreds official release speeds were to be around 1800+ and then AMD would move up from there. The rumors are now a thing of the past. AMDs new horse is lean and feeds on less than its predecessors. With this fit and trim setup, the XP2200+ is running at 1.80GHz. AMD also opted to maintain the Socket 462 configuration. Keeping with this design the doors to many end users to upgrade to this next generation processor.
