Since the introduction of the AMD MPX chipset we have been taking a look at what the manufacturers have to offer. The Dual AMD Market is a sweet spot for not only end users but also for manufacturers. There are several reasons for this: price, availability, performance and as of late selection. Tyan was the first with the Dual AMD Platform releases but Asus and MSI were following closely behind. This portion of the market hasd up and many of the AMD fans that have been patiently waiting are now sizing up the growing product line. From the manufacturers standpoint there have been a lot of people waiting for the opportunity to own a Dual AMD Platform. These platforms are now appealing to the other side of the tracks. Again price, performance and a wider selection to choose from has brought in more and more buyers.
This is an opportunity that manufacturers cannot pass up and with the introduction of the GA-7DPXDW, Gigabyte is hoping to take a bite out of this growing market. Gigabyte has been supporting AMD since the introduction of the Slot-A processors. Having produced a full line of Socket-A platforms it was only a natural step for Gigabyte to produce a Dual AMD platform. Let's take a look at what the GA-7DPXDW has to offer and how it stacks up against a pair of Tyan Tigers.
