Introduction

I was sent a Quantum case from MGE Company. Like a lot of people, I wasn't aware of MGE Company until after they sent me the case, even though MGE Company has been around since 1990. Even though MGE is not as well known as Thermaltake or Lian-Li they make some quality cases. In the following sections I am going to show you what the Quantum case looks like, its features, and how the case cools your computer.

Exterior

The case I received is black, however they also sell a Silver version. The front of the case says "Quantum" and has a fan controller and monitor.

This picture is of the front door Here you can see the five 5.25" bays and the two 3.5" exposed bays. You can also see the vent for the front intake fan.

The front cover all the way so that it is easier to install your drives. Here you can again see the 5.25" bays and the 3.5" bays. The 3.5" bay can be removed from the case so you can screw in your drives. There is also a knob so you can lock the left side panel.

Both side panels on the case look the same; it is black with a round grated area in the middle. You can see into the case through the grated spot.

On the top of the case is the case ports, there is a Fire wire port, 2 USB ports, and audio ports, speaker out and microphone in. Right behind the ports is the vent for the top case fan.

The case comes with a fan controller that can control up to 7 fans. The fan controller allows you to change the speed of the fans, however the fans that come with the case can only be changed from a low of 1900RPM to a high of 2300RPM, which is only about a 17% difference. The fan controller also has 3 temperature probes on it, allowing you to monitor the temperature in 3 different places in the case. You can set a warning temperature that once the probe detects a temperature higher it will cause your PC Speaker beep for about 5 seconds. The only problem I had with the fan controller was that the LED is a little dim, and it can be hard to make out what is on it.
