After seeing the 9800 Pro's clock speeds and performance, I doubted it
would have much overclocking potential. Nothing could have been further
from the truth. The results speak for themselves. Using a program called
Powerstrip, we are able to overclock the Radeon in Windows. No BIOS changes
were made. The card ran stable without errors, pixel distortion, or texture
flashing until my memory reached 391MHZ. The FutureMark benchmark began
to show texture flashing, but the card was able complete the tests.

After seeing how fast it was with a Barton 2500 we could not resist
the temptation to pop in a Barton 3000, overclock them both, and see what
it could do. The results are as impressive as the 9700 Pro's was when
it was first introduced.

The following screenshots are from ATI's 9800 Pro Demo. This demo is available
from ATI.com. The screenshots do not do the animation justice. Pay close
attention to the translucence in the butterfly, the water, and the ripple.
The hair on the chimp even moves.
