Looking at the two processors side by side you can see the shape of the core has been redesigned. Now in the shape of a rectangle the core itself is a bit smaller. You can also see the 2200+ utilizes the original XP brown substrate material.
Taking a closer look at the core there is something missing.
Well other than the marking in the upper right corner, all identifying markings have been removed and can now be found on a black tag located below the core.
So with that out of the way what about the bridges?

Looking at the upper set of bridges you can see the Laser cuts between the bridges. Note the L1 bridges DO NOT have laser cuts!!!

Make sure that you have the latest Bios for you motherboard installed BEFORE you put in the new XP2200+. An older Bios in our 8KHA+ shows the XP2200+ as an Athlon 1800mhz.

A quick flash to the latest Bios offered allows our test platform to recognize the new processor as it true self.
Running a 2100+ with the Dynatron
DY1206BH-625, processor temps ran 40oC at idle and 45-46oC under full load. The 2200+ ran 39oC at idle and 44oC under full load with a case temp of 31oC AMDs. The temps are better but not exactly what I had hoped for. Never the less it is a wee bit cooler and with the test bed setup and running stable lets take a look at the specs and then lets take this Thoroughbred for a couple laps around the track.
