Setup and Installation
The installation of the GA-7DPXDW is again simple and straightforward. The platform will fit in just about any ATX mid-tower case configuration. As noted above I would recommend a larger case but this platform will fit in most true Mid-Tower cases. As I have progressed during the evaluation process I have gotten into the habit of mounting the processors and heatsinks before I install the platform into the case. This lends itself to simple and quick platform installation.
With everything installed, it is time to power up the system and head into the Bios. Looking around in the Bios we find nothing really different than most. Gigabyte has included the usual platform adjustments. We do have the ability to manually adjust the memory timing settings for better performance. We will be running via SPD memory settings for our evaluation session. Gigabyte also has several predefined FSB settings to choose from. These settings will allow us to overclock our platform. Also looking at the pictures below you can see the option to boot from the RAID.

With the system up and running we headed into the installation of Unreal Tournament. Mini-Bite has become my official system pre-test tester. With the game installed and updated she setup for several hours of gaming. The system performed flawlessly and it is time to really push this thing to the edge. Running two separate instances of Folding while looping the Unreal Tournament entry movie the system was left to run overnight. The next morning the GA-7DPXDW was folding away and the Unreal Tournament entry movie was looping away. With the stability test out of the way it was time to start our first round of benchmarking.
