The hardest part about reviewing monitors is that there are no benchmarks, no Monitor Mark 2001 to give you a solid number to compare or anything. The opinion is totally subjective based on what you like to do with your time on the computer. I personally enjoy gaming, watching movies, and doing some work: the CTX served well in all three of those applications.
Pivot View
This is a neat feature of the monitor allowing you to adjust the screen's position clarity from landscape to portrait. The software is easy to install, and as simple to use. Putting the monitor in portrait view further slims its design saving you even more space. I could not find a good use for the other positions, though if you were going to wall mount the unit I could see how this could come in handy.
Monitor Features
The monitor comes stacked with the usual features that allow you to adjust the screen position, brightness, etc etc
In all reality the only two that I needed was the auto tone for initial setup of the monitor and then the brightness adjuster. When I played games I needed to turn it up to 100 percents, when doing normal office stuff I needed to turn it down to around 30 percent.

Office Productivity
The monitor performed well in basic office use, no different than a CRT monitor and took up less space doing it. My main complain while using the monitor was the overall brightness: even when the brightness on the monitor was turned down, white backgrounds and lighter background produced a slight glare. I have seen this in almost every LCD monitor I have used, so I can not fault CTX for it. The response time on the monitor was good, no noticeable image ghosting from scrolling too fast on web pages. I would not recommend using this monitor for video editing or any high end graphic design. When I did some work in Photoshop I had a hard time telling apart some of the colors as some of them just kind of blended together. This is an example of a time where a dual display setup would be perfect using this monitor and a regular CRT Display.

If it's one thing that LCD monitors have been infamous for it's playing games. Slow response times, blending colors, and dark displays usually mean miserable game playing visuals, so I was not expecting much out of this monitor in that respect. To my surprise the monitor performed extremely well in every game I tossed at it; Combat Flight Simulator II, Morrowind, Nascar, Swat 3, Jedi Knight II and others played extremely well, almost as well as CRT monitors. I would normally recommend going with a dual display setup with a CRT for gaming, but with this monitor you can have your cake and eat it to. The only complaint I had while gaming is the darkness in certain places, even at 100 percent brightness some levels on games were a bit too dark to easily navigate, a minor flaw when compared to how most LCDs perform in gaming. I could easily go on about how impressed I am with this monitors gaming performance, but then this review would never end=P

Movie Time
Time to grab the now-expanded DVD collection and see how this lady peforms. I have seen Gladiator at least ten times on both a big screen TV and my regular 17 inch monitor, so I decided to use it as my comparison movie. Once again this monitor surprised me, I saw no big noticeable difference in image quality between it and my CRT Monitor, and enjoyed my movie. I did have a major complaint though, my weak el cheapo speakers were not doing the setup any justice, guess I know what my next upgrade will be.
