Intro and Specifications

Thermaltake's Crystal Orb has held the crown as the best video card GPU cooler for some time. The ease of installation and low cost of the Corb has made it the choice for overclockers that want to push the last few MHz out of their video cards. It couldn't have been too long before another company realized just what kind of a market Thermaltake had when it came to cooling the new breed of GPUs and decided to give them some competition by making another cost effective and, most importantly, easy to install cooler. Vantec has come onto the scene with its Iceberq VGA and chipset cooler. When booth coolers are compared "bottoms up" you will not notice a big difference. Both have flat, well designed bottoms that require no lapping. Obviously Vantec saw that TT had a good idea going, so why re-invent the wheel? Where the Icberq does differ is its height, being roughly half as tall as the Corb, it won't block a PCI slot. The Iceberq also uses a smaller, lower R.P.M fan that the Crystal Orb. The grill is also better constructed on the Iceberq; the crystal orb had a problem where the grill would usually be pressed down onto the fan, stopping it from spinning. Most people fixed this by either popping the grill up, or taking it off entirely. The Iceberq did not have this problem and seemed better constructed all around. At $24.95 it better be, but will it be able to dethrone the current king?
