Value and Conclusion

Why would someone want to buy the Dragon Ultra Platinum Edition? I'll give you four good reasons:

1. Stability
2. Performance
3. Value
4. Aesthetics

This motherboard was extremely easy to install and ran completely stable. I've been using this board in my main system for several months now, and I have yet to have a stability issue. I've left it running without a reboot for a couple weeks at a time, then I went a couple weeks of turning it off every night and booting it back up in the morning. I've run Sandra Burn-In for hours on end, plus have played all the games I'm currently playing (UT, Jedi Outcast, Q3A and Dungeon Siege) without even a sign of problems. I have total confidence in saying that if you set your system up around this motherboard, and do it correctly, you'll have a completely stable system.

Performance wise, the Dragon Ultra Platinum is comparable to other KT333 motherboards currently on the market. The performance is a slight step up from the KT266A chipset and as we know, every little bit counts.

This motherboard has one of the most complete feature lists of any motherboard on the market. Supporting PC2700 DDR RAM, a RAID controller that supports RAID 0, 1, 0+1, or being used as another IDE controller, 6 channel sound, overclocking features, USB 1.1 and USB 2.0, the Sigma Box with Smartmedia and Compactflash readers, plus 2 USB 2.0 ports and an onboard LAN controller. The Dragon Ultra Platinum is an expensive motherboard at first glance, but when you look at the feature list, you realize that it's really a good value.

On top of all the above, the Dragon Ultra Platinum is the best-looking motherboard I've ever seen. I've never had the desire to show off the internals of my case before, until I purchased this board. Of course this is a personal opinion, but it can't be denied that it's an attractive board.

Anyone looking for a fast, stable, good looking motherboard need not look any further then the Soyo KT333 Dragon Ultra Platinum Edition. It's not the best for overclocking, but for stability, features and looks; I'd say it's the one of best KT333 board on the market.
