Cooling

I wanted to see just how much this case cooled the system, and what type of temperatures I got. I tested the case with the PCI blower and intake fan off and on.

Test System

  • ASUS P5AD2 Premium motherboard
  • Intel Pentium 4 925X 3.6 gig CPU
  • Nvidia 6800 GT video card
  • Corsair ValueSelect DDR2 RAM (2-512MB sticks)

The results of my test shows the PCI Blower and intake fan did keep the system cooler then without it. When I had the coolers installed I got around a 3 degree Celsius difference then without.

Without Coolers: CPU: 51C, MB: 42C
With Coolers: CPU: 49C, MB: 39C

The case is also quiet for how cool it keeps it.

Conclusion

The PC-60Plus is a worthy successor for the PC-60. They kept everything that made the case popular while improving the cooling and making the case quieter. This case is not as quiet as a case built to be quiet, but it is definitely quieter then the original PC-60 and the average case. If you are looking for a good aluminum case that has survived throughout the years, and is still popular, then you will be happy getting the PC-60Plus.
